Google Cloud Next ’20: OnAir is a nine-week, all-digital event series with fresh content delivered weekly, including keynotes, breakout sessions, learning opportunities, Q&A, and 1:1 interactions with Google Experts. You’ll connect with attendees, get inspired to innovate, and gain knowledge on how to solve your most important challenges.
H-E-B, like many enterprises, is moving away from legacy mainframes in favor of microservices and public cloud infrastructure. With hundreds of applications powering our 100+ year-old business, we need to be confident that the platform we are building will provide the agility and security to continue to innovate for our customers. In this session, the H-E-B engineering team will deep dive into how we’ve started breaking down our Curbside and Home Delivery monoliths into microservices, why we chose to make Kubernetes a first-class citizen, and why we’re leveraging Anthos as a hybrid cloud platform. We’ll discuss the lessons learned that led to a successful transformation and how Anthos deployed on-premises will expedite the journey to microservices. After the session, attendees will understand the challenges that come with adopting a hybrid modernization strategy and how Anthos plays a critical role in their success.
